About The Practitioner
Karen graduated from the British School of Shiatsu-Do in 2003. She quickly worked to establish a local shiatsu practice providing
expert shiatsu services to local clients. Her practice has grown over the years and now treats clients from the wider North London area.
She has been actively involved in practise classes and clinics at the London BSS-Do School where she trained.
Working previously as a qualified Drama Therapist, her area of expertise became women’s groups, exploring
issues such as self-esteem, personal safety, health and well being. She has many years of experience working with young people and adults with varying
degrees of learning difficulties.
As a result of recognising the emotional impact of life transitions, and witnessing some clients reaction to treatment,
Karen is currently completing an M.A in Relationship Therapy. Her enhanced communication skills are beneficial to
ongoing client welfare, but are a separate strand of Karen's professional work.
Both during her studies and after qualifying as a shiatsu practitioner, Karen has followed a wide variety of courses and workshops,
studying with teachers that include Wataru Ohashi, Carola Beresford-Cooke and Dan Stretton. She remains committed to the progression
of her shiatsu skills through study and receives regular treatment herself.
